VaishaliS Preview - Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive

Over the last couple of years, Vaishali Shadangule has quietly, but steadily made her mark as a designer. A woman of few words and many inspirations, her clothes are an intriguing blend of traditional and contemporary; simple silhouettes with complex drapes and details. Her new collection, which she will showcase in a few hours at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014, Vaishali pays a tribute to the “RABARI” tribe’s traditions, philosophy and beliefs.

We caught up with her during the fun but chaotic fittings session, where she spoke about the importance of styling every outfit meticulously to the last detail for her runway shows. As she fussed over the models, the outfits, the looks and the accessories, we took a sneak peek at the designs that will be a part of her show today.

A visually delightful melange of colors and textures, the collection features an intriguing contrast of traditional look with modern silhouettes. With textile taking centre-stage, Vaishali has worked closely with the weavers to create a unique blend of linen, silk and cotton yarns, Jacquard weaves, and Jamdani, coming together in short dresses, ghagras, lehengas and sarees. We are giving you a gentle visual tease of what the collection holds. Do watch this space for more of her stunning creations, and the collection review.

Also got to meet the style diva herself, Pallavi Datta, of Pallavi Style Diaries!
