The Wonderful World Of Waffles

Now, who doesn’t like hot, toasty waffles for breakfast! I am a sucker for this lovely food, topped with an unending array of sweet or savoury toppings. Our breakfast today was a quick morning meal of waffles topped with scrambled eggs and a peanut and sour cream topping. Simple as that!

I don’t have a waffle maker at home, so I buy the ready-made from a local shop. I would suggest buying several packets of these and keeping them refrigerated, and then finding an opportune time to surprise your family with a ridiculously easy and quick breakfast that looks like you toiled for hours to make it.

Here is my quick and simple waffles recipe.

Two toasted waffles
A cup full of cooked, scrambled eggs
Mixed herbs powder
1 tbsp caramelized onions
2 tbsp sour cream
Two tbsp smooth peanut butter
Some dried cranberries for topping

In a bowl, mix the onions, a pinch full of herbs powder, and cooked eggs. Top each waffle with half a cup of eggs. In a separate bowl, whip together the sour cream and peanut butter, till smooth. Scoop out a spoonful on top of the egg.
Finish by sprinkling some dried cranberries.
Serve immediately.

What’s best about waffles are the various kinds of toppings you can experiment with. No matter how often you eat them for breakfast, it never has to be boring. Try a mix of strawberries and cream with chocolate.

Or some caramelized bananas with whipped cream. How about some Mascarpone Cheese and fresh blackberries! You can also go for frozen yogurt and nuts. Your options are as wide as your imagination and your willingness to experiment with the toppings.
