The Happiness Festival

It happens over a weekend in November, and thousands flock to Pune for three days of Music, Madness, and generally all things good. The NH7 Weekender festival gives people a chance to kick off their shoes and dance to the tunes of some of the liveliest and the most amazing bands and artistes from across the country and beyond it. This year, the Weekender in Pune was a drastic upscale in terms of the Line-up and overall organizing of the event.

Husband and I drove down to Pune, and ran into someone familiar every 100 meters of the city. We missed the Friday lineup on the 2nd November, but made it to pretty much all the coveted performances on 3rd and 4th November. To say that my lungs and body ached from all the cheering and dancing is a bit of an understatement.

On Saturday, I chose a red kurta to wear, as I knew that moving around and dancing rated way over extreme style. I wanted comfort, and I got it. We had a great Brunch at Malaka Spice in Koregaon park area of Pune, and headed towards the Festival. After listening to some great performers across several stages showcasing different genres of music, we reached our hotel exhausted but happy. Sunday, we repeated the pattern. The only downer was, having to leave Pune really early on Monday morning to make it to office in time, while trying to beat the massive highway traffic of people trying to do the same.

Here are some pictures of the food, the festival and my two outfits. The vegetables skewers and the Thai Rose Petals Salad were part of our Lunch at Malaka Spice.
